One Day and counting and info on Gentry

Hey all. Well. It's one day and counting. Gentry had his last work day yesterday. He is seven-and a half years old so he is a little young to retire, but due to his limp, I'd rather retire early than see him hurting. Additionally, I plan to embark on a five-mile walk every day and he would not be able to do that for sure. I have dicided to allow the Seeing eye to retire him for me as the last person I gave my previous dog to didn't take good care of him. He allowed him to get overweight and than bragged about it. It's really hard to find people who won't treat these special dogs with the respect and dignity they deserve. However, I trust the Seeing Eye so I know he'll go to a good home. He has a scavenging problem which I can't seem to get under control. Maybe they can do that before he is adopted. I'll certgainly have to warn them about it.

Well, that's all for now. I'm sure Sarah and the kids are going to take Gentry to is favorite place today -- the dog park. While there, he forgets he is a well-trained Seeing Eye Dog. lol. But I'm sure he'll have fun in the process of playing

I'm going to post some audio from the trip to "the eye" if I can find a good free podcasting service. If I can't manage to do that, I'll throw up public links on dropbox. Please let me know if you are interested.
